Meet the hosts
Raised in South Philadelphia’s Italian community, Shaughn was introduced to the wonderful, intertwined world of wine, food and storytelling at an early age. He loved watching his childhood neighbors make wine in their basements and then share their product with the community over lively dinners and conversations. While studying abroad, wine remained an integral part of generating authentic experiences and connections in his life and travels. It wasn’t until college studying the arts, however, that Shaughn's passion for the communal spirit of wine developed into an academic interest and eventual passion for perfecting the art of pairing wine with food. Under the mentorship of some of the most talented sommeliers in the industry, Shaughn earned his certification as a sommelier. He has since consulted restauranteurs throughout New York and Los Angeles to help them develop wine programs that elevate their dishes and overall guest experiences. Drawing from his roots, Shaughn approaches wine as a storyteller and brings people from all different worlds into the dynamic experience of tasting and learning about wine through the lens of history, science, culture and food. He currently resides in Los Angeles, where he serves as sommelier at world-renowned Augustine Wine Bar and hosts the educational wine podcast, The Diving Bell Lounge.
Shane Lopez is an accomplished sommelier who represents one of the most respected wine distributors in the world. He also leads his own blind tastings for sommeliers in Los Angeles weekly.
